COVER T 0912

About the Cover

The challenge of illustrating our 60th anniversary issue was met with one of reef photographer Kim Yusuf’s outstanding captures from the Red Sea. Taken off the Marsa Alam town area in Egypt, this explosive, celebratory dispersion of anthias is a fitting theme for the excitement we feel as TFH celebrates 60 years of exploring the fascinating world of fishes and the aquarists who love to keep them. The past decade since our 50th “golden” anniversary has seen coverage in these pages of all major aspects of the fishkeeping hobby and its ongoing development; turn to p. 72 for a brief look at some highlights of the past 10 years of TFH’s journey. And to delve a little bit deeper into the Red Sea and its wondrous inhabitants, check out John Robertson’s own journey of discovery snorkeling this epic reef ecosystem on p. 92. Photo by Kim Yusuf
